Hi everyone, I'm new here.  I'm not a complete computer novice, but a lot of this VPN stuff is new to me.  I'm willing to learn.

There are a few problems I'm learning about and I have a few questions.

Many of you may have heard these before, so please forgive me.

DNS leaks.

I have been testing for this and it appears I do have DNS leaks.  I've seen a number of suggestions, but I would like to solve this once and for all.  I want to use OpenVPN.  Do just need to change to a static IP address?  If so, how do I disable ipv 6 and use just ipv 4?  What is the address I need to use?

I also want to use this product on my android phone.  I use the cellular network and lots of wifi, as I travel for work a lot.  Is there a very simple way to just install and once it's installed, I can forget about it no matter what?

Do other services have options to stop DNS leaks?  If so, how do they do it?

One thing I've noticed since I have this service, in my current hotel, the internet speed I being throttled.  But, when I go through the AirVPN pipe, my speed is actually faster!

Thank you for your time, I want to learn, please be gentle!

If you are using the AirVPN client, you can enable "Network Lock" - this will prevent anything from not going through the VPN tunnel, including DNS requests.

If you are not using the AirVPN client, then you either need to configure firewall rules appropriately or ensure your DNS settings are set up properly (not always possible with Windows).

In regards to using the service on your Android phone, you need to install the official OpenVPN application and create some certificates in the Client Area of the website.

I am not thoroughly familiar with other providers methods to prevent DNS leaks.

I don't know if I answered what you wanted, but please feel free to ask questions and I or other members will try to assist.
