Does router performance matter if using AirVPN client?

Recommended Posts

I want to stress: I don't intend to run Open VPN on the router. I am talking about OpenVPN handled on the PC, with AirVPN client.

I'm wondering about this. Usually routers perform according to their CPU and RAM with multiple connections in P2P. But thinking about what the router "sees" I guess all that connections handling happens on the PC running Air VPN client. The router just sees a single connection to the AirVPN server one connects to.

Am I right or wrong?

No, ok... I've just been gifted a Netgear AC2600 and was wondering if it mattered at all compared to my current AC1900.

I guess not much, regarding AirVPN. Maybe it will have better range (one can always hope...).

its only a matter of the router if you configure the vpn ON the router . if its on PC via software the router doesnt affect your speed. (normally)
