Only read some of it since wired doesn't like adblocking and I don't use viber or whatsapp since it'd require my phone number to be given out which I don't do but yeah I'm glad they are stepping it up

Apps like Viber are mostly used for personal communications anyway, so it assumes you are fine

with giving your phone number to the peers you chat with.

For anonymous messaging you have Threema and XMPP.
