Xbox over vpn

Hello I want to ask the community some questions,

I have a wireless isp that blocks port connections on my roof antennas and as a result I have strict nat when play online, so I decided to go through vpn to play online with open nat, I'm a total newbie of vpn world but I already tried to connect with success sharing connection through my laptop but is not the ideal setup for forwarding ports, what do you suggest in my case? Get a ddwrt router will be fine? All suggestions will be appreciated
