TWC webmail/email blocked by AirVPN?

Recommended Posts

I noticed that while using AirVPN, I cannot access TWC Email at all. I try going to their webmail site (https://mail.twc.com) its completely inaccessible, as well as the IMAP ports on the same server seemed to be blocked. I can ping the server fine however.

I am wondering if this server was blocked as a bulk block to prevent spammers from using AirVPN or was TWC emails servers used for spam on AirVPN on the past? I use TWC email for unimportant emails so its not critical but I would like to be able to access atleast their webmail without having to disconnect from AirVPN.

You have an excellent real time tool to check such issues, here:

https://airvpn.org/routes/?q=https%3A%2F%2Fmail.twc.com%2F

As you can see, they are probably filtering many hosts for whatever reason, or simply

the webserver doesn't perform well under load.

In any case, this is not a results of AirVPN blocking anything, probably TWC does.

So its TWC blocking the AirVPN's servers? I am connecting to the Chicago (Alkaid and Pravonis) while checking and it does appear the server fails behind both of those servers. I live in Southern Ohio so those two have the best speeds and lowest pings. It does look like the Atlanta (Kaus) server doesn't have issues so I could connect to there when I want to check the TWC email.

Thanks for showing me AirVPNs routes checker.

As far as I can tell, AirVPN is not in fact blocking TWC. But it is entirely likely that TWC may be blocking AirVPN. And if they are, then please do complain. Tell them you will have to look into other ISPs if they cannot let you use the VPN you want to. If they never hear a complaint, they may never do anything to fix it.

Debugging is at least twice as hard as writing the program in the first place.

So if you write your code as clever as you can possibly make it, then by definition you are not smart enough to debug it.
