Network lock blocking one LAN activity - others work fine with lock engaged.

I have Eddie installed on my Linux Mint PC. I'm also using the bonjour protocol on Pidgin on both my Linux Mint PC, and my wife's Linux Mint PC in another room in our home. My wife and I use Pidgin//Bonjour to send notes back and forth to each other between our PCs on our LAN. This works perfectly until I initiate Eddie's network lock on my PC. With the lock engaged we are unable to communicate using Pidgin's bonjour protocol.

I should note that we have no problems with the Plex server on my PC when the network lock is engaged, and we have no problem sharing files between PCs on our LAN with the network lock engaged. So why won't Pidgin/Bonjour work? It works just fine until I engage the lock.

Could someone tell me how to get Pidgin/Bonjour to work with the lock engaged? I don't even know where to begin to solve this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
