WebRTC IP leak problem on Samsung tablet

Recommended Posts

I'm having a WebRTC IP leak problem on a Samsung Tab S 10.5. When I go to ipleak.net on the Chrome browser, it leaks. When I go to ipleak.net on Opera browser, it leaks. Even on the TOR onion browser, it leaks. The ONLY browser that doesn't leak is Mozilla Firefox. What can I do to keep the other browsers on the Samsung tablet from leaking?

In case it matters..... I don't have this problem at all with whichever browser I'm using on my Sony Xperia Z3+ cell phone. Even on my Apple iPad Mini 3, there is no leaking on any browser. Please keep in mind I'm not very tech savvy. My sincere thanks for all offered advice and guidance.

Hello!

Sorry, but there is no way to fix the WebRTC leak on chrome or opera on your tablet.

What you need to do is use Firefox browser. On the ipleak.net website scroll down and and the give you the 3 step fix for the webRTC leak. It's very simple to do.

Plus the Firefox browser allows add-ons like adblock/ublock origin, disconnect/ghostery, and https everywhere to help improve your privacy on your tablet.

Problem solved!

Thank you for your helpful advice. I have made the adjustment by going into "about:config" in Firefox and toggling "media.peerconnection.enable" to false.

However, I do have a follow up question. Why is it that the Chrome browser on my Sony Xperia Z3+ smart phone doesn't leak? I'm surprised that someone hasn't developed an OpenVPN app that allows for a seamless tunnel for Android, or even a network lock that I use on AirVPN for my iMac desktop. I'm guessing the reason why the different browsers on iPad Mini 3 don't leak is because the OpenVPN app for iOS gives you the option of a seamless tunnel.
