Recomanded pfSense Box Hardware

I have the folowing Question for the Comunity or better for the Air Staff

 

Wath hardware is curentley recomanded for a box to install AirVpn on ?   (expect answer from somebody who made it work)

Did you AirVpn stuff do inofficial testing ?  (can u make recomandation/ no responsability)

Do to the fact thet the box has to stay on all time like a router, power consumption is a concern/permanent cost. Is a low voltage CPU ok or not ?

 

My personal research:

I opted for AMD not Intel because of the RdRand backdor suspicion

MiniITX board, AMD Athlon 5350 X4, 2000MHz 4Gb Ram , CPU power consumption 25W

I run this hardware.. I use a RTL811E based one which are very cheap ~ $7. People advise Intel NICs but I've not had a problem with Realtec.

 

Mine router is on all the time and is stable. I've had it on for about 5 months.

 

Speeds are up to 150Mb/s  which is the limit of my network so I have no idea how fast it can actually go.

 

The router  runs at about 20 watts. However I wouldn't get hung up on the power, even powerful modern Intel chips don't use that much more when they are not busy.
