Network Lock on Windows 7

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I understand that when network lock is enabled strict firewall rules are put in place to only allow traffic through the VPN.

After it's enabled lots of programs that I launch give a firewall prompt asking if I want to allow access on public networks. If I enabled this for my bittorent client for example, does this potentially mean that the client may connect outside of the VPN in the event of a disconnection or is it completely safe to allow these firewall exceptions?

Its safe if Network Lock is on. The public networks it is referring would be WiFi hotspots that are discovered when you are out and about rather than any known home networks you connect to most of the time.
