Any ways to change data and control channels from defaults?

Sometimes i just need all the speed i can get, i was wondering if i could use something different or nothing for data encryption and control channel/data auth (this one has an overhead of 8-16 bytes).

Is there a way to do this in the airvpn software itself or openvpn?
