high speed upload when disconnecting router

Recommended Posts

new to vpn but thought i should try when my country decided to ban pirate bay.

i got an issue about that when i close my router, airvpn shows 20-30 megabytes pr second upload.

when i check kaspersky it shows that openvpn.exe is the culprit. is there something i can do to remedy this or is this an issue with airvpn ?

Try another server, maybe another port.

the serverside is not the issue..

i lean towards that it must be an glitch in the programming

in airvpn or openvpn.

This usually occurs when the connection is lost unexpectedly. Try entirely killing AirVPN/OpenVPN by:

Trying to exit the AirVPN Client normally - if this works, then stop here.

If it does not, then open a cmd window as admin (start --> type "cmd" --> right click and click "Run as Administrator")

and type (or copy and paste):

taskkill /f /im airvpn.exe

taskkill /f /im openvpn.exe

Then restart the AirVPN client. If the problem persists, try using TCP if you are using UDP, or UDP if you are using TCP - it may possibly hold connections better.

Without the OpenVPN logs, I can't help you more.

Almost definitely not the case.

Airvpn's 'Eddie' software is a wrapper for openvpn. Try different connection options with 'Eddie' as eyes wrote.

Happening to me (for months+) and other users.

See here:  https://airvpn.org/topic/15334-airvpn-client-shows-huge-upload-speed-drops-all-connections/

Major pain in the ass.

However, some servers I don't have the problem with such as Heze.

I can connect to Heze w/o the upload issue, but if I try Alkes or Peacock for example, it will happen.  Same connection settings.
