DNS problems on linux

I'm using arch linux. It seems like resolv.conf is not being generated or working right. When I try to use a generated profile openvpn it connect fine and I can ping any IP address but my DNS server doesn't update and I cant resolve any addresses. When I use eddie I get the following

I assume it the related DNS problem.

In the eddie client "I think advanced option area" try and disable the Check Route feature.
