OpenVpn on Android 5.1 and multimedia text messages

For the life of me I cannot find a way to get this to work. I can receive calls, text messagbu, send texts and pics but when someone sends me a pic in a text message it will not download until I disconnect from OpenVpn. Help?????

If you can try using a server that is based in the same country as your phone carrier. They might be geo-blocking.

I had a worse issue of not being able to send any texts or call since my provider uses all MMS and VoLTE which makes it all data. Started with Lollipop. My solution was to choose an OpenVPN client that uses Lollipop's new API to choose what to tunnel or exclude. Exclusion was a witch hunt so I manually added all the apps I want tunneled and all is well.

ok so I had an issue that I had no internet connection, no text, and no mms. I solved all of it. On my android phone it has APN settings. What I did was I made a new APN and copied al of the information from the original one. The only thing that I changed was where it said IPV6 I changed that to IPV4 .. I also tried IPV4/IPV6 and that worked as well. So I would check to see if it is set up the same way ... if it is then this would be worth a try. Hope it helps.
