utorrent webui question

So i've been using AirVPN for a while , been working great so thanks  just a quick question though ;

 

I've read the FAQ on torrenting safely and came across this 

 

"IMPORTANT: do NOT forward on your router the same ports you use on your Bittorrent or eMule client (or any other listening service) while connected to the VPN. Doing so exposes your system to correlation attacks and potentially causes uncencrypted packets to be sent outside the tunnel from your client."

 

So in utorrent its possible to use an alternative listening port for the webUI over the connection port,  just wondering if that would be safe to forward on the router for external access ? or would it cause issues.

Where are you trying to access the WebUI from?

uTorrent, just like any other closed source software can behave unexpectedly.

 

qBittorrent can be bound to a specific network interface, and should be a safer option.

I can already access it internally, which i assume is fine.. but obviously can't access remotely,
