DoomRunner 1 Posted ... Hi, I am in the process of trying out AirVPN and cannot get internet access when using OpenVPN from my Linux Machine. It works with the AirVPN app fine, but I would like to use the OpenVPN method with generated configuration files. The OpenVPN method is needed because I want to run the VPN on a headless linux machine. I have tried a few different ovpn files with OpenVPN with limited success. Any help appreciated please? DoomRunner 1 Posted ... update... When OpenVPN is connected using the config I cannot ping a URL but i can ping the ip address. For example: ping www.google.com...gives unknown host but using the ip address of google.com works: ping 74.125.195.106...works! Could this be a DNS issue? What can I do to fix this issue please Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1442 Posted ... Are you using Eddie? If yes, which version? In Preferences -> Advanced -> DNS, which DNS switch mode is set? An excerpt of your logfile could also be useful. No only because it answers some questions about your OS and client. Oh, and please engulf them in spoiler tags to improve readability of the thread. DoomRunner 1 Posted ... Hi giganerd, thanks for the response. As I was typing this you replied before I got a chance to post... Resolved... The network interface had a statically assigned ip address with my ISP's DNS servers. I just changed the DNS server namespaces to public ones. 1 OpenSourcerer reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post
rickjames 106 Posted ... You can toss in 10.4.0.1 and all the dns queries will go through airvpn. -If that's what you did then disregard as I misunderstood.
