Noob here: AirVpn won't open after I downloaded for Windows 8

I have downloaded for Windows 8 but it won't open. Uninstalled and reinstalled for Vista/7 as I saw in another thread but did not work either. Any help?

Try to start it as administrator.

I did. That didn't work either. I finally downloaded it as portable and that worked.
