alansugar 0 Posted ... Hello all I've followed instructions from this website https://www.bestvpn.com/blog/9662/5-best-vpns-for-apple-tv from the section Sharing a VPN connection in Windows 7 but the Apple TV still shows I'm in the UK although I'm connected to a US AirVPN server. Can anyone help? Thanks Quote Share this post Link to post

alansugar 0 Posted ... Hi Yes it does, but what I am trying to do is share my AirVPN connection from my laptap to my ATV to spoof my ATV into thinking I'm in the US so I can watch US Netflix, Hulu etc. Thanks Quote Share this post Link to post
Vibes 2 Posted ... I simply use Airplay to stream from my Macbook to Apple TV. Quote Share this post Link to post
Khariz 109 Posted ... I simply use Airplay to stream from my Macbook to Apple TV.This is really the only way to do it besides installing the VPN on your router so that the ATV uses the router. On some android TV solutions, like the Amazon FireTV, it's possible to run VPN software on there, but even a jailbroken Apple TV would have difficulty pulling this off. alansugar 0 Posted ... Can't do that as I don't have a MacBook, just a Windows 7 laptop which was why I followed the instructions from the website I listed in my first post. But no joy, the ATV still shows my location is UK so is not detecting US although I'm connected to a US AirVPN server. I can't understand why it is not working as I have followed the instructions exactly from the section of the website Sharing my VPN connection in Windows 7. Any ideas anyone? Thanks Quote Share this post Link to post

Thanks You can do it from a Windows 7 laptop. Download a copy of a program called AirParrot. It allows you to AirPlay stuff (including desktop mirroring) from your laptop to your ATV over your local network. I use it to watch sports on sites like First Row Sports or Wysiwyg (which both require flash) and stream them to my ATV. That will work just fine. You aren't gonna get VPN working on an ATV.
