Network Lock - uTorrent & Firefox question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have been using AirVPN for a few weeks now and had no issues.

The network lock has always been activated, but since yesterday when I open uTorrent or Firefox it looks like these programs are now trying to access the net not through the VPN firewall rules but through their own firewall rules  - see below  / attached screen prints. So unless I allow the connection I can't download in uTorrent for example.

The question now is

- Why are these programs creating their own firewall rules and not using the VPN inbound rules? They always used to go through the VPN rules?

- If I allow the connections, will these programs still go through the tunnel or am I at risk of broadcasting my real IP?

Thanks

Allow the connection. Then go to http://ipleak.net and attempt a Torrent Address detection. Switch to the website and wait for some results. Post them here.

Apologies for hijacking the thread but since the original poster hasn't replied yet I figured that anyone else coming across this thread might find the following to be useful.

I'm new to AirVPN and have experienced the same situation as the original poster:  After enabling the network lock Firefox and uTorrent both had popups from windows firewall requesting internet access.  I allowed them both (did not check the public network access option) and have since checked ipleak.net.  uTorrent continues to only display my VPN IP address and forwarded port.  Browser DNS detection also only shows the VPN IP address.
