Thanks. I found the problem; I was originally looking at the en-us not the en-gb. That's why they didn't match. Cheers for help.

Question for Linux users.

 

As Adobe ceased to support flash plugin for Linux (the last ver is Version 11.2.202.442), this plugin is outdated as for now.

 

How do you watch video in browser? Do you use outdated  Adobe flashPlayer or did  you find a replacement? If it is the last case, what is the replacement?

Adobe still supports Flash on Linux - they have only stopped developing feature updates but they still backport security fixes!
Latest security bulletin, announcing updates for all platforms:

Alternatively, you can use Chrome's integrated "Pepper Flash Player", actively maintained by Google (security and feature updates).
Also worth noting: YouTube has recently dropped Flash for HTML5 video as default

If you’re using Firefox in Linux you could always use this addon (https://github.com/dillbyrne/random-agent-spoofer/) and select IPad safari (I’m sure others work also). This will allow you to watch YouTube videos without installing flashplayer, especially if you’re using Iceweasal.

You can watch Youtube Vimeo without Flash very comfortably in Firefox with several addons all

mentioning HTML5 such as YouTube ALL HTML5 or YouTube HTML5 Player

Just a small addition to Kheops' post: You don't need any addons in order to watch youtube without flash in firefox 36. I don't use flash and it works very well. It might be another story if you still have flash installed. You might need one of the aforementioned addons in order to set your preference from flash to html5.

 

I suggest to get rid of adobe flash entirely. You don't need Microsoft silverlight either. There are alternatives like pipelight working for netflix and sports channels.For the occasional stream that needs flash I use Chromium with the Pepper Flash Player, like sheivoko said (well, I prefer Chromium over Chrome).

 

Edit: Okay, I correct myself. Because of the WebRTC vulnerability one shouldn't use Chrome or Chromium. If you can't live without flash, it might be best to use html5 where possible and only use flash when neccessary. Firefox with some addons, like Kheops said, might be the best and most comfortable solution in the end.

I agree with Wer Flash is a vulnerabilty and above all a privacy issue.

Another alternative is to search for the mobile site or simply changing the url of the site

with either m or mobile as goes:

https://the video i want to watch

to

https://m.the video i want

https://mobile.the video i want

Does not allways work

 

Minitube / HTML5 "youtube only" player Software app can be another alternative.
