OVPN File Grayed Out on Android

I am trying to set up airvpn for first time on android. Following instructions to import ovpn file that i created and is in my download folder on my android into openvpn but it is grayed out and I can't import it ...any ideas?

is your phone rooted? I want to say its a permission issue.

try moving the file to diffrent folder like on the phone or usb storage or vice verca.

Some additional information about your phone would be helpful. Especially OS version, root status, which app you're using and which version it is,..
