Using two vpn together

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have just started from the command line two different vpn tunnel service from 2 different company.

Unfortunatly I can't ping or use internet after the second vpn start.

Probably the problem is about route, please can you explain how to use two vpn provider at the same time?

Thanks you.

I think he's trying to chain vpn's.

The easiest 'and safest' way is via virtual machines. Connect on the host machine, then boot up the Vm and connect from inside that.

There's also the possibility of modding the routes but it doesn't offer you the protection of a virtualized environment.

There is a discussion (and pointers to more information) here:

Both chained VPN-s and independent VPN-s are discussed.

Only one (at most) VPN can be the default gateway. You need to specify the interface in the ping command in order to ping a VPN that is not the default gateway.

I have seen many folks on several forums attempt to connect 2 VPN's from the host only.  It is a MUCH better practice to do what RickJames suggested: establish independent VM's.  The isolation and security are unsurpassed compared to any model you can create on one operating system.  You might spend some time reading about the security improvements offered by going the virtual machine route.  You won't have to limit yourself to only 2 either, once you learn how to chain!!
