Grazzy 5 Posted ... Hi I'm a new user of AirVPN. A couple of questions. I'm a UK user with 80/20Mb Download/Upload http://Plus.net Fibre connection. I typically get 76Mb down and 18Mb up with no VPN. e.g. Usenet SABNZBD download is normally 8MB/s. Plusnet don't normally do any protocol restrictions to speak of. I've I've tried airVPN various protocols including SSL and SSH and they all give similar results. 1) I never see any UK servers listed with a star rating for speed. Netherlands Servers are 5 star, Canadian servers 2-3.5 stars. The UK servers seem to have a lower load and similar users. They seem quite rated for latency. Why such a poor speed star rating for UK? 2) When connecting to the best server (speed) or pretty much any server I get consistent upload speeds of about 75% of my best upload speeds but downloads range considerably. Often upload is better than download. SABNZBD drops to 900KB/s to 2MB/s. Any reason why download varies so much whereas upload is pretty good? e.g. The internal airVPN speed test on the best server and a selected UK server gives Sedna (best server) Down: 13.387 Mbit/s Out, 11.638 Mbit/s In (86%), 20MB - Up: 14.870 Mbit/s Out, 13.477 Mbit/s In (90%), 20MB - Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2015 15:04:04 GMT - Buffers: 20MB/20MB - Laps: 1, Time: 28.57 secs Carinae Server: Down: 10.535 Mbit/s Out, 9.984 Mbit/s In (94%), 20MB - Up: 15.264 Mbit/s Out, 13.592 Mbit/s In (89%), 20MB - Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2015 15:01:19 GMT - Buffers: 20MB/20MB - Laps: 1, Time: 31.27 secs 3. Some servers when I do an IP address check seem to be somewhere else. e.g. Nashira UK Manchester seems to be in Switzerland! I have to say airVPN seems very good. 1 myanonma reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post
