Just an advise for those facing the same problems as I did: Go and grab a capable thin client! The are available on ebay for cheap and add a Intel Dual port NIC running pfSense! The VIA CPU's have a crypto engine (Padlock) built-in. With 1.6 GHz and 1GB of RAM it is below 50% CPU load if I max out my 50 MBit connection Not to mention the enormous amount of configuration options you have!
