Can't connect to anything other than AirVPN.org

I just subscribed to this over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, but I can't get it work for me so far.

 

I'm using the client software on Windows 7 and can successfully log in and connect to any VPN server I have chosen so far (various in US, Netherlands, and Canada). However, once I do, everything else on my PC cuts off from the internet. I can only visit various pages of AirVPN.org, but even those stop loading eventually.

 

Other observations:

 

This is only possible in Firefox. Chrome stops loading any web pages at all.

 

I tried switching from Automatic to the 443 UDP setting but there was no difference.

 

I can still see other computers on my home network.

 

Please help.

what DNS servers do you use?

Try to change it to Google public DNS (8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4)

I got in touch with AirVPN support and they had me enable the "Force DNS" option, which fixed it.

 

My speeds are unacceptably slow (like, 10% or less of original speed) but at least I can access the internet now.

 

I guess I can consider this solved.
