Can only connect after repeated attempts

Hey guys,

 

I'm having an issue running air vpn on my windows 8 laptop.  I connect to the US servers and it allows me to connect to any server I pick, and says I'm connected and my IP has been changed and everything - however when I type in "myIP" in google to check if it has actually worked, it shows my original IP.

 

I disconnect and reconnect and eventually it works, sometimes after 3 tries, sometimes after 10.  I have tried shutting down my firewall and Im not really sure what else I should try.

 

Works fine every time on my windows 7 PC.
