SaveSnowden 5 Posted ... Why is it on certain AirVPN servers, the Google home page randomly thinks I am in another country? Loading www.google.com loads Google FR, and YouTube says YouTube (UK) like it thinks I am in the UK. This only seems to happen on particular servers (like Velorum currently). There are no DNS leaks from my end and the IP is correctly showing up as country it is supposed to be in. And what happened to the LU server? I complained that it was really slow to staff a week before it went down, and I was told it was fine, and then a week later it goes offline and hasn't returned. Was it seized? Do we need to be concerned? And when is it coming back? Quote Share this post Link to post

Also, viewing http://google.com/ncr will not redirect you (No Country Redirect, ncr). (Sent via Tapatalk 4) Quote Hide OpenSourcerer's signature Hide all signatures NOT AN AIRVPN TEAM MEMBER. calculus 4 Posted ... The same thing is happening to me. I've been a subscriber for almost a year and recently started using us.vpn.airdns.org as my server address instead of a specific VPN a specific server in the US. It says I'm connected to a US server on the bottom on this page and recently I've been pulling up Canadian news from news.google.com and the weather map is showing me as being in Quebec. I'm nowhere near Canada. The only thing I did recently this week was reboot my router. Still doesn't explain how us.vpn.airdns.org is geolocating me in Canada. IPLeak.net shows my IP address is originating from Virginia, US.... Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1441 Posted ... Google uses it's own geolocation database. ipleak.net uses MaxMind, hence the different results.
