I have used air vpn in debian 7 with no problem, I recall I had to apt-get install extra stuff, i think network-manager-openvpn-gnome-vpnc.

Also maybe had to, as root, go to file /etc/Network manager and change some  config from false to true.This is all approximate info, but

Googling will come up with useful stuff.Hope that helps a little.

PS just read yr earlier posts, not sure i understand what the problem is.
