Two questions on Network Lock

Recommended Posts

1) Let's say that, from time to time, I need to check the web from my real country. How do I achieve this? If I exit the client is that enough?

2) I opted for Auto setting, the only other options I had were None and Windows Firewall (I'm on a Windows 8.1 machine).
From reading your description in the FAQ, I expected rules to appear in the Advanced Firewall settings (since it says that only method usable on the machines appear), but I can't see any. Should they be there? Any reason why they're not? The FAQ also mentions winfirewallrules.wfw file. Where should it be? If it should be in the installation directory, it's not there.

Probably it was a matter of closing and restarting, because now the firewall rules change and everything seems to be working as it should.

I've also found out that if exit the program, it reestablish the previous rules and it reinstates them when it's launched once more. That takes care of my need to browse from my original country.

Now the thing I still have to understand is this. When I launch a program that needs to access the outside network, the Windows Firewall pops up stating it has blocked it. This would be ok if the access would be mantained once granted but the problem is that this pop up seemingly comes up everytime the AirVPN application is closed and then restarted. Which makes sense, considering how the firewall rules are implemented but still it's pretty annoying. Any way to work around this?

Also, even if I negate the permission to the Windows firewall, it doesn't matter, since your rules seem to take precedence. But still, it's annoying.

Thanks for all the help!
