AirVPN Windows Interface Hack executed - won't connect

Recommended Posts

I'm having a tremendous amount of problems getting airvpn to work consistently. I am on Windows 8.1 with AirVPN 2.1.

THE ONLY WAY IT WORKS:

When my computer boots up, and I go to “Network Connections”, sometimes I see an adapter there called “Tunnel TAP Adapter”. If this adapter is there, AirVPN will absolutely never work, the only way to make it work is I need to rename this adapter to “Local Area Connection” (I found this fix online). After I do this, I manage to connect with AirVPN. Great!

attached: network connections list  (I have no idea where these multiple local area connection come from)

DISCONNECT / RECONNECT BREAKS IT

If I disconnect then try to connect again (any server) I get stuck trying to "connect", here are the logs, the only way I can get this working again is rebooting.
