router for Openvpn, and Tomato or DD-WRT, or OpenWRT

Hello, Looking for routers that would support Openvpn, and Tomato or DD-WRT, or OpenWRT, run on Xubuntu 14.01, and Win XP(soon Win 7 or Win 8.1). Must have wireless and ethernet(cable) connections.

1-Have:
       Intel® Core™ Solo Processor T1350
              1.86GHz, 2MB L2, 533MHz FSB
        Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset
        Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g) and Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection - 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet

        4GB ram, 1TB HD

2-Looking at Ausu routers, RT-N16, and RT-N66W. The N16 doesn't look like it supports Tomato(?),

        and I can't find find support for either for OpenWRT. Both routers have plenty of RAM/Flash memory.

3-Have a Verizon/Westell 7500 DSL router now that I will put into 'bridge' mode, after installing new router.

4-Primarily looking for more secure, and configurable firewall in router than the Westell

5-Second, support for faster throughput in either wireless or ethernet. Will I see faster connection speed?

6-Run 2 PC's, the linux box runs P2P, sometimes VM box with 'whonix/tor'.

7-And I want to run a networked printer(Brother HL-2270DW) through the router.

 

Please, any suggestions, insight, or comments.
