What can the NSA (or others) do if they capture our VPN configuration files?

Recommended Posts

Let's say the most powerful enemy, the NSA, manages to capture our VPN config files (the .ovpn config, ta.key, user.crt, user.key). What impact would this have on the user's security, besides the fact that they can log into a VPN session as you? I know they can't decipher previous sessions because of PFS, but would having the user.key make it easier? Would having ta.key make it easier for them to do man in the middle attacks? I would like to know kinds of problems they could make for that user.
