Australian AirVPN Performance Discussion

Hi,

 

I have been having fun testing the performance of the VPN for me in australia and so far i have tried Singapore and US

 

What i have found is Singapore tho closer and providing faster DNS resolution US provides faster page loads. probably due to most of the sites i navigate to must be US hosted. I also play GuildWars2 on a server hosted in Massachusetts, thus i selected a server in Virginia (Electra)

 

Now i hope i understand the world routes correctly here... Assuming an australian user sends a request to a US IP address

the data flows directly to US via Gaum in Pacific Ocean.

 

I found a just over 100MS extra ping time pinging electra if i VPN to Singapore first. Pinging Electra directly was faster so i think singapore must of been going to US the other way past Indian and atlantic ocean.

Another quick test was to ping a US website and compare between SG and US VPN server, the extra ping was there.

 

Am i right here or could be something else ?
