ANSWERED Connect with AirVPN client works, but not with OpenVPN

Recommended Posts

I'm having difficulties getting the OpenVPN to start with my Windows 7. I've read many of the guides here, and they all seem simple to follow, but still - no joy.

When i connect through the AirVPN client, it works.

1. I've downloaded the configs to the "config" dir, and i've renamed them 01_Netherlands, 02_Sweden and so on.

2. I've set the OpenVPN service to autostart in Services.

3. Nothing happends..

So, then I've tried to manually connect with the OpenVPN-gui. Yes, I've set it to "run as administrator", and try to connect to any of the servers. The log window shows this:

vpn.jpg

Can anyone give me any hints on what my problem might be?

Hello,

your system can't resolve nl.vpn.airdns.org (which is not used by the Air client).

Can you please tell us if nl.vpn.airdns.org is resolved by your system now? Commands:

tracert nl.vpn.airdns.org

ping nl.vpn.airdns.org

Kind regards

Hello!

Ok, please do the following.

Re-generate the configuration files with resolved host names:

- click "Advanced Mode"

- tick "Resolved hosts in .ovpn file"

- tick "All servers for area/region"

In this way you will have configuration files with IP addresses in "remote" lines instead of host names, solving the problem at its roots.

Kind regards

I have tried to download the Airvpn on Windows 7, it seems it can not go.

I am really confuse.

It shows i must download .net framwork 2.0 SP2.

My system does not accept that.

What should i do to download it?
