While browsing online, seeing Facebook plug-in

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

With the VPN turned on, I was browsing the internet and I noticed that on a page where you could leave comments via a Facebook plug-in it was showing as my Facebook and my name. I assume FB is reading from something else in my computer to determine that it's me browsing, but what does that mean with regards to others being able to see me or determine that it's me that is browsing? Does the VPN mask me completely and the FB plug-in pulls from something else?

Thanks for your help! https://airvpn.org/components/com_kunena/template/default/images/emoticons/cheerful.png

Hello!

A VPN secures your connection, not your computer. If your browser or any plug-in (or yourself, of course) send to Facebook your real data, a VPN can't protect you in any way. Please make sure that you don't have on your system stored cookies, stored Flash cookies (also called supercookies) and of course that no malware is running before starting browsing.

Kind regards

Thanks! So, if I were to browse using the Incognito windows of Google Chrome then that would suffice? What if I were on a Mac? Is there an Incognito version of a browser for Mac that keeps the cookies off automatically?
