Cannot connect with AirVPN client and ZoneAlarm 15.3

I have just upgraded ZoneAlarm Antivirus and Firewall from version 15.1 to version 15.3 and after that upgrade I cannot connect via AirVPN client version 2.13.6.

With ZoneAlarm version 15.1 there where no problems.

If I disable antivirus/antispyware in ZoneAlarm then its working.

I have tried to add AirVPN.exe to exceptions without luck.

Are there anybody else that have problems with ZoneAlarm and AirVPN client?

We have a report from a customer of ours that confirms this bad behavior and that reports that Zone Alarm support team acknowledged the bug. If you have the time, we would recommend that you contact Zone Alarm customer care. More reports might imply a faster bug fix from them.

Got this answer from ZoneAlarm, so it's look like it's official. AirVPN client will not work with ZoneAlarm from now on.

Thank you for the information. So the block is against us specifically, not against OpenVPN. Good to know. Draw your own conclusions about Zone Alarm "quality".

 

We're not in the position to make recommendations on a specific tool, but we can tell you what to avoid:

Kaspersky Internet Security 2018 (but this is a recognized bug which could be fixed in the future by Kaspersky)

 

Avast, a minor problem: it removes/quarantines from your system curl.exe which is a tool for HTTP(S) used by Eddie
