VIRGIN MEDIA slowing down or blocking airvpn ?

Hi please can anyone give me any information on this please i read some where or some told me that Virgin Media block Air Vpn or openvpn or something im not to sure what this means or how does it effect me ? can link or infomation please.I have super hub 3 and i pay for 100 meg speed.Does this mean they are slowing down my speeds when i use Air Vpn ? Thank you.

Hello!

 

It's quite possible they detect you're using this product and then punish you for it. There's a guide to getting around it, in the link in my signature, in its guides section, for that ISP specifically.

It means your connection might be slowed to a speed it normally wouldn't be at, if you weren't using Air.

 

Does this mean they are slowing down my speeds when i use Air Vpn ?

Yes that's possible. It's not unusual for ISPs to shape traffic, but it's a bad habit.

 

For a quick fix: use the Air Eddie client, go to its Preferences menu>Protocols>Uncheck "Automatic">Select SSL or SSH>Connect to a location. Then the Stats tab will show you're using the protocol. It can help get around blocks.

Hi thanks for that guide i went to my virgin super media hub and sign in but under firewall i cant see option for  PPTP OR MULTICAST there is nothing there

As the guide OP states, he's not sure what to do if something is different in that case. But he did link to helpful posts and by extension, you could create an account and raise the issue on their forums if you wish and then share any solutions you find, here.

If you are using the Eddie client, select SSL & port 443 in the protocols options. My speed over Virgin halves without that selected.
