ANSWERED openvpn client on asus router TLS Renegotiation can't disable?

Recommended Posts

Hi

i'm running a openvpn client on my asus router. Everything works as should, one thing though i can't figure out and hoping someone here could assist.

Every hour there is a tls renegotiation, i got a media box that is going to be connected to the vpn streaming etc so i want to avoid the vpn connection being disconnected when tls renegotiation happens.

In my router VPN -> VPN Client i set TLS Renegotiation Time (in seconds, -1 for default) to 0 which means disabled and tried reneg-sec 0 in custom configuration but still every hours it the tls renegotiation happens.

anyone know how i can disable it as nothing i have tried works?

thank you

Is the setting pushed from the server?.  Why would you want to disable this?

It can be used by client and server, basically whichever uses the lowest value (client or server) will be the one to trigger the renegotiation.

Reason why is i for some reason got it in my head that tls renegotiation disconnected vpn then reconnected, i researched more and found out i was wrong and got a little confused. Thanks for replying. will mark as solved. thank you
