Eddie vs OpenVPN Script in Ubuntu Networking

Recommended Posts

What are the advantages/disadvantages of using Eddie over importing the OpenVPN scripts into the Ubuntu Networking program directly?

Aesthetically, having VPN abilities built into the GUI seems preferable over having a program running that doesn't integrate well into Ubuntu (i.e. no minimize to taskbar).

That's actually a good question, even though it was answered multiple times

in the past. Everything comes to your usage and server change needs.

Of course you can run everything manually, but with Eddie you get an advantage

of statistics such as best servers per country, advanced features such as network

lock and many more capabilities.

If you use a VPN for random rare task and don't care much about new servers

and features you are totally fine with the "manual" setup.

If you are less technical or just want to have simpler experience without having

to deal with any underline configs, choose Eddie.
