AMD Kabini 5350, Win 7 x64 and AirVPN Client

For some reason the VPN is unbearably slow on my HTPC setup. The CPU is really hammered by this client for some reason. Other clients run fine and this client runs perfectly in the other room on my i7-6700K with Win 10 x64.

 

Any suggestions, besides upgrading from this 25W TDP CPU?

A ~4 year old discontinued budget CPU which costed around $60 at the time it was new.
