Ubuntu 17.10 internet connection problems

I got eddie working for a while on Ubuntu 17.10 but now I'm encountering problems. Now when I boot my computer I don't have an internet connection unless I'm connected through eddie. Also, eddie gets stuck on "flushing dns...". I suspect that this started happening when I did not disconnect my vpn connection before shutting down. If anyone has encountered similar problems with Ubuntu 17.10 please share, I can't be the only one.
