so i've seen a few posts on here about the FireTV,

 

What is the best way to have the FireTV on a vpn ?

 

I have currently installed openVPN and loaded the config files, however I am experiencing no more than 20mbps on a 50mbps connection. Is this due to the processing of OpenVPN on the fire TV?

 

If so, is there a better way to run a vpn at home ?

Of course, if you're willing to learn.  You can build a pfsense box on a budget that can handle 400mbit/s with AES-NI.  Seriously, I bet you don't spend more than $150 if you try to keep costs low.

I just tested IP Vanish (purchased a cheap 1 month sub) and managed to get 40mbps
