Stuck at 'checking route'

Hi. Sorry if I'm posting something pretty basic but I'm stuck. Yesterday I installed eddie on my mac osx and was using AirVPN and it was working brilliantly. Unfortunately this am it crashed and I had to find the icon again in my downloads folder as I hadn't put it in my applications folder. Now when i try and connect to any server it gets to 'checking route' then times out.

Is anyone able to point out my obvious mistake?
