Cannot Change Protocols

I am running W10 Creators Update and cannot edit protocols in Eddie.  For various reasons, I need to, and in the past was able to, edit the protocls list.  Now it reverts to automatic no matter what.

Could it be that the other settings are not saved as well when changed? Make sure you don't "kill" Eddie when closing it. Also make sure the AirVPN.xml is not tampered with afterwards (by antivirus suites, backup software or programs reverting files back to some previous state at some point).

I don't even close it.  When I hit "Save" and reopen the preferences everything is reset.

Are you using the installable version of Eddie? If so, try the portable.

Portable does remember I unchecked Automatic, but I still cannot edit the list.

Everyone really needs assistance. It's the hell for you, I fear.

 

So, does portable work or not? I think you use the word "edit" ambiguously. You write that it remembers your preference, so it works around your problem, doesn't it?
