I have a custom local DNS (https://pi-hole.net) and I was wondering if AirVPN actually uses it if I set it as my DNS server in the Eddie preferences. These are my current settings:

DNS Switch Mode: Disabled

Check AirVPN DNS: UnChecked

DNS Servers: 192.168.X.X

My router is also set to use this server. The DNS Server itself uses DNS.Watch as its upstream servers. The PiHole is based off of debian (raspian lite).

I just want to make sure that my DNS traffic is using my local resolver even when connected to AirVPN so I utilize proper ad and tracking blocking. Also, would it be possible to configure my DNS server to use AirVPN for all DNS upstream requests? My Router currently does NOT have dd-wrt installed so i cant set router to use vpn for entire network.

Would permanently using AirVPN on my DNS PiHole server do much as far as privacy? With PiHole I could also set custom DNS Upstream servers, would it just be efficient enough to set it to use AirVPN DNS servers? DNS.watch utilizes DNSSEC though and its working correctly.

Any reply appreciated. Thanks
