Hello friends! I have installed the app OpenVPN formmy IPAD Air and I have downloads the server. I have noticed that the connection speed when I go in vpn mode is reduced. In practice, normaly I go to 75 MB of speed Connection while I have active the vpn I go to 25 mb. it's normal? I can Sharpening something? My modem i San Fritz box 7490. Tank you!

Keep in mind that phones/tablets have less powerful CPUs and lack AES-NI instructions, so the expected performance can be like running OpenVPN on a router.

In which case 20-30Mbit is the average expected speed.

 

You can try connecting with a modern desktop and compare.

Consider the possibility to build your own router with a x86 CPU supporting AES-NI. In this case pfSense could be the OS you may require.
