Not connected, Your IP: 34.229.50.161

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

I can't seem to establish a connection to my local devices (e. g. router, NAS, etc.) with engaged network lock, even though "allow private/local traffic" is enabled in the preferences. I'm using latest stable version of Eddie on Win 10. Network lock is the only reliable way to prevent DNS leak (as tested on your IP/DNS leak test site), so it is not an option to just not engage it.

I tried to route traffic to local IP's via rules, but to no avail.

What am I missing?

Cheers!

Erm, no. Setting your DNS to static 10.4.0.1 on every physical NIC is easier and has the same effect, with more predictable errors should they ever occur. So, it is an option to just disable it.

When I was still a Windows user I even wrote a script to quickly change to DHCP if needed.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping to make use of a feature that is supposed to be working natively from the client, to be honest. Would be nice to not worry about alternative workarounds for issues like this. Will try yout solution and see if it fits my needs!

Have a nice week!
