AirVPN Client very high RAM load?

Recommended Posts

I recently installed an app called Dr Cleaner which frees up RAM when you quit a program. When I have quit the AirVPN client, it always says that it has freed from about 1.8GB - 5GB that the client was using. I don't understand how the client can use up this much RAM when it's purpose is solely to create a VPN tunnel.

Is the Dr Cleaner software reporting erroneously or does the client actually need to take up this many resources?

I am going to try Tunnelblik and see if it reports similar things when using.

I will never understand what the purpose of all these "RAM cleaners" is. Every OS has its RAM management algorithms which work very well. Linux has /swap, Windows has pagefile.sys, Android kills off low-priority apps when on low RAM, etc. pp.

But yes, I'm not reading this the first time. Somewhere on these forums an Ubuntu user pointed out high RAM usage of the Eddie client.
