Not connected, Your IP: 3.138.141.202

I did a search and read all the other posts from people having disconnects, and nothing really seemed to fix the problem from what I read.  For two weeks now I have been having constant disconnects with reconnects.  I uninstalled Eddie and TAP and installed the latest release, still the problem is there so I am not sure what is going on.  I have attached the log and highlighted the 3 disconnects I have had today.  I have also noticed that my browser is taking a long time to open webpages using VPN, and I often get a "problem loading page" but without VPN all is fast and loads correctly.  I have uninstalled all addons, reset FF to default and made sure I have the latest version, still the problem.

I read this article but it just says that ping timeouts to inactivity are all the VPN fault, I have no idea:  https://www.sparklabs.com/support/kb/article/error-inactivity-timeout-ping-restart/

Anyway, I know lots of guys have posted this problem, but my problem is still evident.

**After posting this I did an admin reset of my IP (int ip reset), flushed my DNS and cache and reset my modem.  I restarted my computer and fired up VPN and connected and then walked away, forty minutes later I came back and I was still connected to the same server (Gemma) but as soon as I started surfing I disconnected.

I am curious as to how you are connecting?  Wireless or Ethernet cable (wired)?  I fought with this for a long time and found the suspect to be my wireless hardware was crap and eventually started to "buckle" under the load of my tunnel.  To eliminate wireless components as suspects I would try a wired/Ethernet direct connection and test the computer for awhile that way.  If it solves your problem then you can go back and start running down where the glitch is starting to happen.  I literally fought like hell with this a few years ago.  Consider this a helpful starting point if its available to you.  I am much harder on a tunnel than most users here.  On this post there are five hops between Air's forum and my machine.  Quite a load.

Hi;  If my network was dropping all the time whether connected or not to AIRVPN then I would agree with you, but it is only dropping when trying to connect to a webpage.  I select the bookmark, it then quickly says "page not available" and about 15 seconds later VPN drops.  If I disconnect and use straight wireless with no VPN I can surf all day long.  At least that is my take on it, but I know very very little about VPNs and such, but if the VPN is causing a modem load that causes a crash then isn't that a VPN problem?

Thanks.

***Well I tried your suggestion and the disconnects happened just as much.  I was trying to connect to a youtube page and it kept giving a "can't find server" and all of a sudden it launched and played, that is when I realized that as soon as AIRVPN dropped out my connection was restored.  So wired or not made no difference.  I had to turn off AIRVPN to connect this time so I could post this, what a pain.***

Hi!

Some modems/routers don't handle UDP connections very well so try TCP if that doesn't work then SSL.

Yep, tried TCP, UDP and automatic.  I have uninstalled AIRVPN for now, it is making the computer useless.

I thought of one thing that may be relevant.  When I checked my internet at IP/DNS detect it would state that my IPV4 test was not reachable when using AIR (I don't use IP6).  Without AIR it can detect it.

Well I MAY, and I HOPE, I have found the problem and fixed it as I have been up for 2 hours now with no disconnects instead of 10 minutes like before.  I do believe it was K9 Web Protection causing the problems, I uninstalled it and all seems to be ok right now.  I noticed that when I had no internet connection it would say it couldn't reach K9 when I was trying to go other places which made me realize everything was being routed through K9 before going on its way.  Perhaps it was blocking the VPN ping as porn or something (which I use K9 to block).

I hope that is the problem.
