Airvpn not working with Ubuntu 17.10 - Fedora 25 - WAYLAND

Wayland

Best Answer Greenliquid, 19 December 2016 - 01:29 PM

I was able to get it working on Fedora 25. LZ1 was correct, once I disabled wayland I was able to get it working. I disabled it by editing /etc/gdm/custom.conf. Thanks for the help LZ1 :good:

Is this problem still being worked on? My workaround does it's job, however, I have to write "xhost +local: && sudo gedit /usr/bin/eddie-ui" in the terminal after every reboot, in order for eddie to being able to start. What is more, after I did this, I only have internet connection when eddie is running. If I quit it, I have to either reboot or start eddie again. Is this something airvpn can fix or should I contact purism (to fix in pureOS)?

Hello!

Eddie 2.16.3 (latest stable release) should not call anymore any Wayland incompatible process, can you please test this version?

Kind regards

With 2.16.3 I still have the same problem. Before, I was on version 2.17.2. Do you have any idea what I can do? Please let me know, if I can provide more information.

Ideally, no graphic apps should run as root, which is why Wayland blocks GUI apps from running as root.
