Weird DNS Leak? All websites including IPLeak.net show secure with the exception of one

Recommended Posts

Hello,

for the past couple of days I've been trying to make my computer 100% secure from all common vulnerabilities of exposing the real identity behind a vpn such as DNS-Leaks, WebRTC Leaks (basically the stuff on Ipleak.com) I'm running Arch Linux and have literally no way of connecting to the server with "Check if using AirVPN's DNS" so I disabled it and tried to connect and it worked. However, my machine is DNS-Leaking. So I messed around with it more found out that the version I was running (that I got off AUR) required that I have a lower version of mono so I upgraded to the latest version which is in beta mode and I got this weird error on IPLeak when it comes to the DNS leak test (it shows a bunch of yellow caution triangles stating "NO IP: INTERNAL ERROR" but the page renders) so I tried on the following websites for testing for DNS-Leaks:

https://www.perfect-privacy.com/dns-leaktest/

https://www.dnsleaktest.com

https://dns-leak.com/

https://torguard.net/vpn-dns-leak-test.php

https://hidester.com/dns-leak-test/

* All of them did NOT leak my ISP ip, so I was happy. BUT then when I was closing the tabs I found this:

http://dnsleak.com

 - Leaking my ISP IP.

I did a whole shitload more tampering with configs and found out that if I completely remove all routername +local IP(s) with the exception of the modified ip that is added by AirVPN's DNS setting (Resolvconf)

in my Resolv.conf the website does either of two things: A) Says I am secure, no leakage Just hangs forever.

Just posting this here to see if you guys get different results while trying different websites besides ipleak.com && dnsleak.com

 - Thanks for reading, potato is my name.

Hello!

The ipleak issue is due to Airs recent changes, so I'd expect that to be fixed soon, as you're far from the only one having that issue. As for DNS, maybe you'd find this Staff post on DNS relevant. I recommend trying out different protocols and networks too, in terms of enabling that DNS checkroute thing, as it'll sometimes work then. Lastly, I think you'll appreciate this ffprofile maker.

Moderators do not speak on behalf of AirVPN. Only the Official Staff account does. Please also do not run Tor Exit Servers behind AirVPN, thank you.
Did you make a guide or how-to for something? Then contact me to get it listed in my new user guide's Guides Section, so that the community can find it more easily.

Hi

I use latest beta 2.11.3 on Windows10.  I had a DNS leak on the site for testing. IP is always accurate from the Netherlands.

But DNS leak showed me ISP address from my country.

I went just change the DNS from Google (8.8.8.8) on any other network adapters in windows (ethernet-2 have normal AirVPN number 10.4.0.1). Now everything is all right.  Is this normal?

Before google 8.8.8.8 DNS on otherk networ adapters , i saw my DNS from my internet provider?
